Last updated: 13 July 2026
1. Introduction
We respect your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the App, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you. By installing or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. For our website policy, see Privacy Policy (Website).
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:
- Account and profile information: full name, email address, mobile number, password (stored in hashed form), city, state, and sales/agent reference provided at registration.
- Device identifier: a device identifier (such as IMEI or an equivalent device ID) used to register and bind your subscription to a device and to prevent unauthorised sharing of accounts.
- Authentication data: session or access tokens used to keep you signed in securely.
- Usage and activity data: actions within the App (for example searches, judgement views), related judgement IDs, API endpoint, request method, approximate time of activity, IP address, and device/user-agent information for security, support, and service improvement.
- Subscription / service status: registration date, subscription end date, and account active status needed to provide paid or trial access.
We do not knowingly collect precise GPS location, contacts, photos, microphone audio, or SMS content through the App unless a future feature expressly requests such permission and you grant it.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Create and manage your App account and authenticate you.
- Provide legal research features (judgement search, citations, bare acts, and related content).
- Bind access to a registered device and enforce subscription terms.
- Respond to support requests and communicate about your account or service.
- Monitor security, prevent fraud or misuse, and maintain service reliability.
- Improve App performance, features, and user experience.
- Comply with applicable laws and lawful requests from authorities.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data only when necessary:
- Service providers: hosting, email, or infrastructure partners who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Assigned agents / authorised staff: limited account details may be visible to authorised sales or support personnel who assist with onboarding or billing, where applicable.
- Legal requirements: when required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security of users or our service.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers managed for the BHCCO service. Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and subscription information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Activity logs may be retained for a reasonable period for security, audit, and support purposes, after which they may be deleted or anonymised.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable Indian law, you may:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate profile information.
- Request deletion of your account, subject to legal or contractual retention needs.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting prior lawful processing.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for advocates, law professionals, and adult users engaged in legal research. It is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
The App may open links to our website or third-party resources (for example official court sites). Those services are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or by email where appropriate.
